How long is an appointment for a child?
Although many children enjoy a full hour massage we usually begin by recommending the following:
Toddlers – children age 12 30 minutes (65 CHf)
Teenagers age 13 – 15 60 minutes (90 CHf)
On your first visit, please plan for an additional 10 minutes for an initial conversation to get to know your child.
There is no way my energetic toddler will sit still for 30 minutes!
You are absolutely right! When we work with toddlers and young children we introduce massage by way of story telling, singing and play. We will spend time discovering the most effective approach for you and your child.
May I drop my child off and pick him up later?
No. It’s important that a parent be present in the treatment room throughout the massage. This is a wonderful opportunity to ask questions and to learn the techniques yourself so that you can massage your child at home.
So I should be prepared to massage my child at home?
Please do! Regular massage will do you and your child a world of good. A hand, foot or back massage as part of your child’s bedtime routine will help your child immensely and strengthen the bond between you.
How do I make an appointment?
Please contact Peter directly via sms/whatsapp or email at peter@wellspringmassage.ch or +41 796 349 8227. He will return your call as soon as possible.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule an appointment?
Please give 24 hours notice if you need to cancel. Last minute cancelations will be charged for the session.
My child has special needs or is recovering from an injury and is under the care of a medical professional. Can I bring her to you as well?
Most probably, yes, however there are situations where massage is contraindicated. Please call Jane for a confidential discussion of your child’s situation. Then we will need clearance from your child’s pediatrician. We have a special form for this which we will forward to you. We are always happy to work with your child’s healthcare providers as well.
Will my child have to get undressed?
Only to the degree they are comfortable and is necessary. We will only expose the body part we are working on, back, hands, feet, for example, and then only with your child’s permission.
Do you also work with Infants?
Infant massage generally entails parents massaging their own babies after having attended a certified infant massage class. We do not currently offer this but will be happy to refer you to an infant massage teacher.
